MoaB MaDdneSs

Carson and I went to the great town of Moab the other weekend to watch Aaron's first Motocross race of the year.

First of all I have never been to Moab so of course I got on my trusty computer and used MapQuest to figure out the best route. I figured it was 2 hours to 1-70 then about another 2 or so to Moab. First mistake, I didn't read the fine print. Second mistake, we left at 7:30pm. Third mistake, Aaron was driving alone so I talked him into just meeting me at 1-70 so we could follow each other. (Let it be known that it would have only taken Aaron about 2 1/2 hours from his house to Moab.) Oh yes and there is a Fourth Mistake, It was supposed to SnoW!

Well we hit snow (which is an understatement) past Cedar and I was white knuckling it while my Co-Pilot Carson was laid back with his i-pod taking a little snooze.

Aaron called and he got pulled over because his tail lights were out. We met at 1-70 and I tailgated him with no tail lights going 30 mph to Richfield. We stopped at Wingers and the waitress told us that it was still another 3 1/2 to 4 hours to Moab. Especially in this snow! (Are You KIDDING me!) Aaron was not very happy since it was already almost 11pm and we had been driving already for 3+ hours, not to mention that and he could have already been there if he had just gone the way he usually goes.. Ooops Sorry!

Well long story short, he jumped into my car and we made it to Moab at 1:30am.

It SNoWeD on Saturday and so there was only 1 race. Aaron came in second. Way to Go! (Not bad for the first race in 2 years)

Next day he was second again the first Moto and then the second he was in FiRsT until he had some equipment malfunctions!!!

It was fun to watch him and to meet some more of his family.

Roll It and Pull It and Mark it with V!

On Wednesday we had a Cousins Valentines Bake Day at Loralee's. She made the cuttest Aprons for the girls and Bakers hats for the boys.

We madeValentine Sugar Cookies and ate enough to make ourselves SICK!

The kids ding dong ditched the neighbors and left plates of cookies. They had such a great time even though there isn't one picture of Cyrie with a SMILE!

They made a Great Big Heart Shaped cookie for me with a candle and sang Happy Birthday to me.

Family-Friends-Chowder and CRAB LEGS!

On Tuesday Rob and I ran up north to take Aaron to dinner for his 18th Birthday! We went to Market Street and had Clam Chowder YUMMY! And shared Crab Stuffed Shrimp and Alaskan King Crab Legs DOUBLE YUMMY! We got to meet some more of Aaron's Family and more of his Friends.

His Grandma Paula had made 18 cupcakes! Cyrie helped him blow them out.

Cyrie LOVES Aaron!!!!

Hope you had a very Happy Birthday Aaron

I was in my room doing some computer work, when Cyrie came in all excited and screaming "Mommy there is SNOW outside!!!" She took my hand and led me to the back patio to see this.......................

They were the biggest snowflakes I have ever seen! She wanted to catch them with her tongue so we got our boots on and went out to do just that. It's a good thing too because it only lasted for about 10 minutes and then it stopped and the sun came out and the snow melted.

I was getting ready the other morning when suddenly I heard.............

S I L E N C E

which isn't a good thing when Cyrie is in the house. I went out to check on her and couldn't find her anywhere. I started to panic a little because I couldn't find her. I was calling her name and running room to room. NO CYRIE! I checked outside in the garage and came back inside to check one more time when I saw this....................

She had covered herself with the throw pillows on the sofa, and fallen asleep. It's a good thing I saw her little piggys poking out before the police got involved!

No Reason

January has come and gone and so here is an update...........

Carson has been playing basketball and has finished the season with only one loss. Although he is a hustler, he forgets sometimes that it's basketball not football. Plus he thinks that they don't keep track of who fouls so he can never foul out. I had to remind him that even though the first is true (they don't keep track of who fouls) his mother does, and I have no problem causing a scene and yanking his skinny butt out! It is important to me that my kids remember who they are and what they stand for. This is a lesson they may have to learn the hard way. Luckily they haven't tested me yet.

Cambria has started dance and is loving it although it has been a bit challenging. After watching her a few times I came to the conclusion that she would do much better if she didn't have to waste time figuring out which foot is right and which foot is left. The same goes for her right and left arm. My solution....... She is now wearing a hair band on her right wrist and she has a piece of tape on her right shoe. Walla problem solved!!!!

Cambria also had a great accomplishment in the month of January. She won an award from the Utah State Board of Education. It's for Outstanding Performance and scoring in the top 10% in the NATION in Reading on the Iowa Test!

I haven't reported any Cambriaisms for a while so here are a few.

#1 Cambria and cousin Brianna were talking back and forth in the back seat as I was driving, when they kept saying things at the same time. They did the usual...... "jinks you owe me a coke,1..2...3..." when Cambria announced, "That's crazy we keep doing that it's like we have cousin technology!"- Interpretation: Cousin Telepathy!

#2 I was explaining to Cambria what Claustrophobic was one day which is a VERY long process. I heard her later talking to her friends and telling them that she gets caterphobic.

I have to include something Carson said too. It isn't often that Carson says something that doesn't make sense but....He was talking about cars and he said "Watch it exhilarate!" Interpretation - accelerate.

Cyrie is crazy as ever, although she is getting better about getting into stuff and making a mess. She is into band-aids and loves to put them on everything. She will get a stool and get them out of the cupboard and of course, put them on herself. She loves to dress herself and put her clothes on by herself but still refuses to go potty in the toilet. Doesn't make sense to me! Here is a picture of when she dressed herself. Notice that she has Cambria's shoes on and "Micky Mouse Gloves" (All gloves are Micky Mouse's)
